'Relax,' Rugunda tells Kisoro leaders protesting over Kayihura detention

The Prime Minister of Uganda Ruhakana Rugunda has begged the leaders of Kisoro to leave the matters of General Kale Kahiyura to president Museveni to rule on his fate.

This follows a petition by leaders and elders from Kisoro District who have demanded for Kale's unconditional release from Makindye barracks without any interference.

The group led by Kisoro District chairperson Bizimana Alex,  Rose Kabagyenyi (Kisoro woman member of parliament) , James Nsaba Buturo (Bufumbira north) held a closed meeting on the fate of Museveni's former  blue eyed boy General Kale Kayihura who has been " detained " in Makindye army barracks close to a month.

Part of the petition our sources received reads; " It's disheartening that general Kayihura has not been subjected to due process of law and there is hardly any attempt on the part of government to reassure the people of kisoro his fate.”

However, sources from the closed meeting indicate that the Prime Minister who hails from Kigezi told the delegation to tone down on the fate of the embattled General.

Rugunda begged the elders from Kisoro to be patient until he organises a meeting with president Museveni who will be in position to address them on the way forward for Kale Kayihura.

Early last month, a security meeting was held in Entebbe and resolved to arrest Kayihura who was later picked from his farm in Lyantonde, questioned and detained at Makindye Army barracks but has never been produced before courts of law for trail.
