Residents of Buraru sub-county in Hoima district are embroiled in controversy as accusations of land mismanagement and corruption swirl around their local leaders, sparking outrage among the community members.

The focal point of the discontent revolves around a 42-acre parcel of land allocated for crucial government projects, including the construction of a seed secondary school, a health centre 3, and a technical school.

However, allegations have surfaced suggesting that local leaders such as LC 3 chairman Robert Mwanga and sub-county chief Bwansi Kenneth orchestrated the sale of a portion of this land.

District chairman Uthuman Mugisha has responded swiftly by initiating an investigation into the matter, expressing concerns over possible bribery or corruption.

Mugisha has vowed to uncover the truth behind the alleged transaction and hold any individuals found culpable accountable for their actions.

The situation has sparked widespread condemnation from residents, who feel betrayed by the leaders entrusted with championing their development aspirations.

Many express dismay over what they perceive as a betrayal of public trust and a hindrance to community progress.

In response to mounting pressure, LC 3 chairman Robert Mwanga and sub-county chief Bwansi Kenneth have denied any involvement in the alleged land sale.

Both officials have pledged their full cooperation with the ongoing investigation, maintaining their innocence in the face of serious accusations
