Soroti: FDC deputy president Adeke pushes her voters to register with NRM
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) deputy president, Ann Adeke Ebaju, has stirred the pot by urging the people of Soroti and Teso to register in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) 'Yellow Book'.
Addressing a belated Women’s Day celebration at Awoja Primary School, Adeke made waves with her unexpected endorsement of NRM initiatives.
“If entering into the yellow book will help you escape poverty, please join,” she boldly proclaimed.
Adeke’s statement, which marks a departure from her party’s traditional stance, has sparked both intrigue and controversy among political circles. While some hail her pragmatism in prioritizing development over party politics, others question the implications of her endorsement.
Richard Elimu, former Gweri County MP candidate and NRM chairperson, welcomed Adeke’s remarks, emphasising the importance of focusing on development irrespective of political affiliations.
He underscored the NRM’s inclusivity, advocating for the integration of opposition supporters willing to align with NRM principles.
Echoing Adeke’s sentiments, Hellen Adoa, the Woman MP for Serere and State minister for fisheries, stressed the need for thorough vetting of individuals transitioning from other political parties to ensure their alignment with NRM values.
Adoa commended Adeke for her support of the initiative, urging all residents of Teso to register with the NRM Yellow Book.
"I want urge all residents of Teso to register with the NRM Yellow Book it's the only way to go," she said.
