Police recovers two bombs at city building

Police on Friday evening closed down a building after discovering two suspected bombs.

Located at plot 66 Kampala road, the building which has no name is next to Fido Dido and is mainly occupied by businesses that deal in computer .

This is the second time that suspected explosive devices are being discovered at the building.

On the 26th May,2018, three suspected stick bombs were discovered at the same building.

In a statement signed off by the Kampala metropolitan spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the building was closed off to the public to allow for further investigations.

Owesigyire later told Nile Post that the "bombs" were old grenades.

Uganda has been on high alert since it sent its troops into Somalia to aid the fight against terrorism.

Because of this deployment in 2010, two bomb blasts went off at Kyadondo Rugby grounds as well as at the Ethiopian Village in Muyenga.

More than 70 people were killed during those blasts.
