Errant government drivers captured in viral video face charges (VIDEO)

Police in Kampala have arrested two government drivers including a police officer who were captured in video while violating traffic guidelines in Kampala city.

The two drivers were apprehended following a video that went viral on social media on Monday recorded by whistleblower along Ntinda Stretcher road.

In a statement, traffic spokesperson Micheal Kananura said that one of the vehicles registration number UG 0120Q Toyota Hilux belongs to ministry of public service was being driven by a one Steven Bukenya Steven and another police car number UP 4911 Toyota Land Cruiser was being driven Dan Sabiti who drove recklessly.

They made a U-turn over the green middle belt along Ntinda Stretcher road.

“Basing on the evidence in the shared video, both drivers were arrested charged and detaianed at Jinja Road police station vide Ref.TSD 16/19/09/23 & TSD 17/19/09/23 pending court,” Kanaura said.

“We commend all the whistle blowers who take and share such videos and encourage them to continue doing the same until we witness sanity on the roads,” he added

Police further warned errant drivers especially government who who make the roads impassible.
