Newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola has rang changes in the force just days after he was appointed to the office.
The changes see redeployment of over 80 police officers to different posts around the country. Notably though in the appointments is the return of police spokesperson Patrick Onyango who now takes over as the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson.
Onyango will replace Luke Oweyesigire who has been acting in the capacity. Oweyesigire now becomes his deputy.
Onyango is not new to the KMP office; he was a deputy to Ibin Ssenkumbi until his promotion to full spokesperson on April 7, 2014. Onyango was however later replaced by Emilian Kayima in 2016.

SP Goeffrrey Kaheebwa from course to DPC Soroti
SP Eriya Elepot from Course to DPC Busia
SP Esau Opio from course to DPC Ngora
SP Darmian Katwesiime from course to DPC Ntungamo
SP Jaffar Magezi from course to DPC Mbarara
SP Edirisa Kyeyune from course to DPC Kabalagala
Meanwhile this is not the first time Ochola is making changes barely days after taking over office. When appointed Deputy IGP six years ago, Ochola on his first day in office made several changes in the force which included promoting the late Andrew Felix Kawesi.
