Kikuube: Six held over murder of a juvenile

CRIME  | Police in Kikuube District are holding six people in connection with the murder of a juvenile in Kidoma Village.

The body of Justus Amumpire, 10, was found in a pool of blood in a banana plantation on Wednesday, April 10.

The Albertine Region Police spokesperson, Mr Julius Hakiza, said Amumpire went missing on April 9 from his home in Kidooma Kiziranfumbi Sub-county.

"The body was found by local people on the morning of April 10," Hakiza said, "we found the body lying in pool of blood, with deep cuts and severe bleeding from the nose."

Police launched investigations that led detectives to the house of Dickson Ainebyona. Upon search, bloodstains were found in the home in, including on curtains.

"After finding bloodstains in the house of Ainebyona, he was arrested together with Janepher Atuhura, Emma Ampaire, Gloria Kawala, Harriet Sanyu and Lucky Nabasa, who are all being held at Kikuube Police Station as investigations continue." Police noted

Hakiza said the recovered cloths with bloodstains have been taken to Kampala for forensic test to establish if the DNA matches with that of the victim.
