Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has hailed the late Kasimba Clan head, Omutaka David Miti Kabazzi Ssempuuma, as a loyal servant of the Throne and a dedicated leader whose contributions to Buganda Kingdom and the Kasimba Clan will be remembered for generations.

Kabaka Ronald Mutebi has commended the late Head of the Kasimba Clan, Omutaka David Miti Kabazzi Ssempuuma, for his loyalty to the Throne and dedicated service to the Buganda Kingdom and his clan.

Omutaka Kabazzi passed away on June 2, 2026.

The Kabaka's condolence message was delivered by the Buganda Kingdom Minister for Lukiiko, Information, Cabinet Affairs and Protocol, Noah Kiyimba, during the burial ceremony held at the Kasimba Clan ancestral grounds in Kyango, Mawokota on Friday.

In the message, the Kabaka expressed deep sorrow over the death of Omutaka Kabazzi and extended condolences to the widow, children, relatives, colleagues, friends and members of the Kasimba Clan.

The Kabaka described the deceased as a loyal servant of the Throne who faithfully fulfilled his responsibilities within the Kingdom while providing exemplary leadership to the Kasimba Clan.

“The deceased was loyal to the Throne and fulfilled his responsibilities in the Kingdom while providing good leadership to the Kasimba Clan. We thank all those who treated and cared for him during the period of his illness,” the message read.

The Kabaka also thanked God for the life granted to the late clan leader and for all that he accomplished during his lifetime. He prayed that God would comfort those left behind and grant the deceased eternal rest.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Council of Clan Heads, Omutaka Namwama Augustine Kizito Mutumba, through a message delivered by the Katikkiro of the Nnyange Clan, Fenekansi Kato Lutuuma, expressed sympathy to the Kabaka over the loss of a courageous, humble and dedicated servant.

Mutumba described Omutaka Kabazzi as a valuable member of both the Kasimba Clan and the Bataka Council of Buganda whose service was characterised by courage, humility and love.

The Buganda Kingdom Minister of Heritage, Palaces, Tombs, Tourism and Security, Anthony Wamala, in a message read by Hajj Hassan Kasujja Kagga, Acting County Chief of Mawokota, thanked God for the life of the deceased and appreciated his family for supporting him in carrying out his duties to the Kasimba Clan and the Buganda Kingdom.

Wamala noted that Omutaka Kabazzi leaves behind a significant void and that his service and contributions will be greatly missed.

During the burial ceremony, the late clan leader’s son, Miti Ceaser Buyondo, was installed as the new Head of the Kasimba Clan and tasked with leading the clan forward.

The ceremony attracted a large number of Kasimba Clan descendants, relatives, friends and cultural leaders who gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased clan head.
