The speaker will continue to donate – Chris Obore
Following the heating controversies around allegations of cash bonanzas in the August House as well as questions into Speaker Annet Among’s Expenditures which sections of members in the public deem as extravagance, the office of the director of communications and public affairs at parliament asserts that the speaker will continue to give alms no matter what.
“The speaker will continue to donate. Nsambya hospital is not in Teso. Parliament will intervene in cases like this and many more. We are glad the Cancer Unit in Nsambya will serve all Ugandans,” said Obore using his official X page that is tagged with a donation of shs. 450m for the Rotary Cancer Run in 2023.

Despite the assertive stand from parliament, the opposition continues to task the parliament to account for the ‘exorbitant’ expenditures despite Parliament’s response, requiring them to produce evidence regarding their accusations.
