UPDF receives 100 pairs of all-weather boots for generals

The UPDF has received a donation of 100 pairs of waterproof welling boots for UPDF General Officers from Crown Rock Shield Limited.

The donation was delivered by the Managing Director of Crown Rock Shield Limited, George Rogers and received by the UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Lt Gen Joseph Musanyufu.

In his remarks, Lt Gen . Musanyufu applauded the company for the donation during the current difficult times when security forces are playing a vital role to ensure safety of the people in the Coronavirus war.

“Crown Rock Shield Limited has partnered with UPDF since 1986 after President Museveni took over power and you played a major role in developing UPDF uniforms,” he said.

Musanyufu pledged that the UPDF fraternity will continue working closely with the company.

The company Managing Director, George Rogers said the donation is in appreciation to the army for its contribution in ensuring peace and security in the country that enables trade to thrive and to the people of Uganda for their support for the company.

"Our relationship with UPDF cannot be underestimated because it was built on the foundation of trust, reliability and professionalism” he added.

He explained that whereas many companies and individuals have contributed their resources to the government towards the fight against the pandemic, Crown Rock Shield Limited decided to concentrate on the UPDF fraternity.

He confirmed that the company has products that meet the standards of UPDF dress code.

Present at the function were the UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso, Deputy Chief of Logistics and Engineering Brig.William Mulondo, head of Procurement and disposal Isaac Kyaligonza and UPDF Logistics staff officers among others.
