More than 70% of areas in Kampala and surrounding areas are experiencing water shortage after a water transmission pipe at Ggaba burst last evening.
Andrew Sekayiza, a general manager at NWSC said their risk management team was caught unaware but they are on ground to have the issue rectified within 24 hours.
The most affected areas are Kampala East, Kampala north, Seeta, Mukono, Muyenga, Nateete among others.
Since yesterday, people in most parts of Kampala have had water shortage after a water transmission line from Ggaba that supplies Kampala burst.
Sekayiza however assured that they are doing their best to have the problem sorted by midnight.
Moses Bigabwa, a senior manager at NWSC said it was shocking that the pipe that has a 50 year life span had burst less than 10 years after it was installed.
Sekayiza urged the general public to be patient as they do their best to rectify the situation.
