As Uganda’s digital economy continues to expand, industry leaders are underscoring the critical importance of reliable internet connectivity and strategic business networks in unlocking enterprise growth, innovation, and competitiveness.
Speaking during NBS Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, the Strategic Partnerships Director and Expo Chair of the Rotary Means Business (RMB) Uganda Expo 2026, Margaret Rose Naimanye, described the recently concluded expo, held from April 23rd to 25th, 2026 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, as a major success, noting its scale and participation.
“The exhibition was amazing. We hosted over 100 businesses, each showcasing their brands, alongside 1,500 delegates attending daily. With around four representatives per company and a wide range of publishing professionals in attendance, the event attracted approximately 5,000 visitors across its duration,” she said.
The Vice Country Chair Elect of Rotary District 9214 added that the expo was designed not only as a showcase platform but also as a structured networking environment aimed at strengthening business relationships and market access.
Ms Naimanye emphasised that the initiative provides Rotarians with businesses an “avenue to showcase their businesses and network within their circles and beyond through connections, conversations, and idea sharing.”
She added that it is increasingly focused on sustainability, continuity, and long-term value creation for participating enterprises.
According to her, this year’s expo stood out for its strong organisational structure and digital integration, to the point that even the host venue was pleasantly “in shock.”
“The standout feature of this year’s expo was how effectively the venue was utilised, delivering strong digital impact and achieving exactly what we set out to promise. Our exhibitors were thoroughly prepared through two rounds of training—both online and in-person—and we implemented clear, strict guidelines throughout to ensure consistency and quality.”
Following the exhibition phase, Ms Naimanye noted that the initiative will continue with a dedicated networking session, including a meet-and-greet designed to deepen collaboration among participants.
Speaking during the same meeting, Elijah Tumusiime, the Chief Commercial Officer of Roke Telekom committed to connecting individuals and businesses through accessible and affordable solutions while also promoting local content, noted that connectivity is no longer a matter for debate.
“In today’s world, connectivity is no longer a luxury—it is a necessity. It has become a critical business tool and a key driver of sales, marketing, and innovation,” he said, emphasising the growing demand for dependable digital partners.
“People are looking for a reliable partner that offers fast speeds, affordable connectivity, and meaningful support for market access.”
Ms Naimanye added that businesses such as Roke play a key role in demonstrating these solutions in real time.
“Bringing so many businesses together in one space creates valuable opportunities to connect, collaborate, and experience the quality and speed of connectivity that Roke provides firsthand,” she said.
Organisers confirmed that the momentum will continue beyond this year’s event, with plans already underway for the next edition.
“Watch the space, the next expo will come even bigger next year! I’ll let you know when I’m ready,” Ms Naimanye added.
