Three Killed in Head-On Collision on Luweero–Nakaseke Road

Three people have died and several others injured following a head-on collision between two vehicles on the Luweero–Nakaseke Road in Nakaseke District. Police have launched investigations to determine the cause of the crash.

Three people have been confirmed dead and several others injured following a fatal head-on collision along the Luweero–Nakaseke Road in Kasana, Nakaseke District.

According to police, the accident occurred at around 8:00 a.m. and involved a white Toyota Hiace (registration UA76CH) traveling from Ngoma towards Luweero and a white Tata vehicle (registration UBJ 081B) heading from Kiwoko towards Nakaseke.

Both drivers have not yet been identified.

The Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, ASP S. Twiineamazima, said the deceased were identified as Joy Kusigwire, 22, and Nathan Nuwenyine, both passengers in the Toyota Hiace and residents of Kyabiguuru, as well as Martin Kingogo, 43, a passenger in the Tata vehicle.

“The injured victims include nine men, two women, and two girl children, whose particulars are still being established,” ASP Twiineamazima said.

“All the injured were rushed to Kiwoko Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.”

The bodies of the three deceased were conveyed to Nakaseke Hospital for postmortem examination.

Police officers from the Nakaseke Traffic Department visited the scene, documented the crash, and launched investigations to establish the cause of the accident.

“We are still carrying out inquiries to determine what exactly caused this crash and to identify the drivers involved,” Twiineamazima noted.

Police have urged motorists using the Luweero–Nakaseke Road to exercise maximum caution, observe speed limits, and avoid reckless driving to prevent further loss of life.
