Centenary Bank Donates Computers to Kisubi Hospital to Strengthen Health Service Delivery

Centenary Bank has donated 10 computers to Our Lady of Consolata–Kisubi Hospital in a move aimed at strengthening digital health systems, improving patient record management, and enhancing the overall quality of healthcare service delivery at the facility.

The computers were officially handed over by the Managing Director of Centenary Bank, Mr. Fabian Kasi, at the hospital premises, in a ceremony witnessed by Kisubi Hospital management and staff, representatives from Centenary Bank, and invited guests.

Speaking at the handover, Mr. Kasi reaffirmed Centenary Bank’s commitment to supporting communities through targeted investments that address real societal needs, particularly in health, education, and social services.

“As a bank of the people, whatever concerns the people concerns us. We recognise that efficient healthcare today depends not only on skilled professionals and medical supplies, but also on strong information systems that support timely decision-making and quality care,”
Mr. Kasi said.

The donation comes at a time when Uganda’s health sector, despite ongoing progress, continues to grapple with challenges such as under-resourced record systems, fragmented patient data, and inefficient information flows. In many facilities, patient information is still recorded on paper or across disconnected systems—wasting valuable clinician time, increasing the risk of error, and making it harder to track trends and outcomes.

The donated computers are expected to support Kisubi Hospital in digitising and strengthening key operational functions, including patient registration, clinical record-keeping, laboratory reporting, diagnostics, and stock management. This will help reduce delays, improve data accuracy, and allow healthcare workers to spend more time delivering quality patient care.

Centenary Bank has been reaching out to communities for the past 42 years, committing 2 per cent of the previous year’s profits annually to community initiatives under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) mandate.
