Erick Lule Eria, a 28-year-old teacher and education entrepreneur, has emerged as the NRM flag bearer for Kiboga West Constituency in the recently concluded party primaries.
Lule secured 6,738 votes, representing 37.29% of the total vote, narrowly defeating his closest rival, Abdul Mutumba, who garnered 6,628 votes.
Mutumba was the incumbent and the Imam for the Parliamentary Mosque.
Other contenders—Robert Yamani, Fred Mukasa, and Israel Yiga—trailed in subsequent positions.
The youthful candidate, who owns several private schools in Kampala and Wakiso, expressed gratitude to NRM supporters for what he described as an overwhelming endorsement.
“This victory is not just mine—it’s for the people of Kiboga West and the future of the NRM. We must now consolidate the gains of our party and prepare to deliver on the promises of transformation and opportunity,” Lule said.
Lule’s emergence highlights a generational shift in local politics, as younger professionals begin to take a more active role in shaping policy and representation.
His profile as a teacher and businessman positions him as a candidate who blends grassroots understanding with entrepreneurial acumen—an appeal that resonated strongly with voters.
