Kanyesigye, who identifies herself as a dedicated National Resistance Movement cadre and the Youth Chairperson of the Kasagama Sub-County NRM Youth League, alleged that the party primaries for the National Female Youth MP seat were marred by widespread irregularities.

She cited voter bribery, intimidation, coercion involving state officials and the misuse of state resources to favour another candidate.

“I bring this petition with utmost respect and loyalty to the Movement, highlighting heinous crimes against the Movement’s democracy,” Kanyesigye said.

She appealed to President Museveni to intervene and ensure that the election process reflects the NRM’s stated commitment to democracy, transparency and fairness.

Kanyesigye said her petition was motivated by a desire to protect the integrity of youth representation and restore confidence in internal party electoral processes.
