Ssebulime accused an elderly woman, Sharifa Namubiru, of orchestrating the demolition to take control of the property.

“This land was given to me by the late Manjeri Nakayima, who later wrote a will in appreciation for the care I gave her,” Ssebulime said.

Ssebulime explained that Nakayima had entrusted the property to his daughter, Misenti Nakyeyune, as the rightful heir, having raised her after dying without biological children.

“The will was read during the burial, and Namubiru was present and did not object at the time,” he added.

Nakyeyune, who was raised and educated by Nakayima, also accused Namubiru of ongoing harassment.

“They have been destroying our crops, including cassava, sweet potatoes, and bananas, and no office has helped us despite our complaints,” she said.

Local residents said Ssebulime had long been using the land and expressed surprise at the demolition.

“We have all along seen Ssebulime using this land, so we are also surprised by what has happened,” some residents said, calling on the Wakiso Resident District Commissioner, Justine Mbabazi, and the Minister of Lands to intervene.

However, Namubiru dismissed the allegations, stating that the case was concluded in her favor.

“The court ruled in my favor. I don’t understand why Ssebulime keeps raising these allegations,” she said.
