Police and sister security agencies have asked for more time to investigate the death of Henry Katanga, a city businessman who died from a gunshot wound inside his bedroom in Mbuya, Kampala.
He was found dead inside the bedroom with his wife Molly Katanga, who was also discovered unconscious.
Although police did not provide many details about this murder case under vide SD ref: 21/02/11/2023 of Bugolobi Police Station, they did request more time from the public on Monday in order to avoid speculations.
“We want to warn the public especially bloggers and some journalists who are spreading information about the death of Henry Katanga, a prominent businessman in Kampala. We want to assure you that the police are investigating his death. Postmortem was done but we still require evidence from ballistic and forensic experts,” said police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
“So at the moment, we request the public to be patient as we wait for reports from the experts. Most of the evidence has to come from experts,” he emphasised
Despite earlier reports that domestic violence was the cause of death, police are yet to determine who pulled the trigger of the killer pistol recovered at the scene.
Meanwhile, the widow Molly Katanga is still undergoing treatment at International Hospital Kampala where she was rushed on Thursday.
Katanga who was aged 61 years owned a procurement and supplies firm Merge Uganda Limited whose main clients are State House, SFC, Ministry of Defence, Uganda Police, Office of the Prime Minister, Civil Aviation Authority and many others.
