He said Besigye in 2011 declared three things which included paralysing the economy, taking advantage of the global economic spike and told Ugandans not to cooperate with the elected government of President Yoweri Museveni expecting that government will fall before 2016 which is comedy.

"Since 2016, he announced 'Tubalemese' and directed people not to open their shops. He announced the 'People's Government' with himself as the president and in 2019, he came back to relaunch 'People's Government'. All this is comedy," Opondo said in part.

Opondo added that Besigye can 'wail' all he wants but in 2021, elections will be held with Museveni as a candidate and there is nothing that Besigye will do about it.

"He can go wailing but 2021 elections will take place and Museveni will be a candidate. Besigye has been a very good dramatic actor," Opondo said in part.

However in response, Besigye told Opondo that this is a struggle and he didn't expect to achieve results in one day.

Besigye said that he has not yet failed since he is still trying noting that 'you only fail when you stop trying,'

"Struggling doesn't achieve results in a day. You only fail when you stop fighting. Is there a need to fight for power in our country? It is only gunmen that have ruled since independence. A 'struggle' is fighting outside power until you attain it," Besigye said.

Besigye said that he chose not to take up arms like the current regime did because that way, power never goes to the people like it should.
