Ellevate: Ecobank Uganda Launches Initiative to Empower Women  Entrepreneurs

Ecobank Uganda has launched Ellevate by Ecobank, a trailblazing banking initiative specifically designed to support, empower, and inspire the growth of women-led and women-owned businesses.

The launch, themed “More than Money,” is a bold commitment to financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and the holistic well-being of the modern African women.

It recognizes the multifaceted and important roles women hold as leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and caregivers.

“At Ecobank, we believe women deserve more than financial products; they deserve opportunity, access, and peace of mind.

Highlights of Ellevate

It will enable unsecured financing of up to $50,000 for qualifying businesses, women-friendly accounts digital payments, and investment products.

It will also enable access to business masterclasses, leadership training, mentorship, and digital visibility support and invitations to exclusive networking and business forums.

Ellevate enables promotion on Ecobank platforms, i.e. access to MyTradeHub, instant funds remittances to 33 African markets and access to premier banking lounges, and wealth management advisory for women entrepreneurs.

With this launch, Ecobank aims to onboard new women-led businesses, activate existing female customers, and elevate internal awareness of gender-focused services.

“Women want more than money; they want mentorship, wellness, learning opportunities, and community. “Ellevate” is our answer to that call,” said Elizabeth Mwerinde Kasedde, Head of Commercial Banking, Ecobank Uganda.

“It’s our way of investing in the future of Uganda’s economy, empowering one woman at a time.”
