The Common Man’s Party presidential candidate, Mubarak Munyagwa, has vowed to make improved service delivery the hallmark of his administration if elected president in the 2026 general elections.
Addressing supporters in Kabujogera Town Council, Kitagwenda District, on Monday, Munyagwa highlighted the challenges that continue to hinder development across Uganda, pointing to neglect, mismanagement of public funds, and poor leadership.
He said rural areas, in particular, have suffered from impassable roads and inadequate health services.
“Our people deserve better roads, functional health centers, and leaders who are accountable to the citizens. Corruption has crippled service delivery, and this must stop,” Munyagwa told the cheering crowd.
The former legislator said his government would commit significant resources to rehabilitating community and feeder roads nationwide, stressing that good roads are vital for boosting trade, improving market access, and strengthening the economy, especially in agricultural regions.
Munyagwa also promised to revamp the health sector, ensuring that every facility is adequately staffed, equipped, and stocked with essential medicines.
He emphasized that citizens’ well-being would be a top priority under his leadership.
On corruption, Munyagwa pledged to implement strict accountability measures and empower anti-graft institutions to operate independently, without political interference.
He argued that the misuse of public funds has deprived Ugandans of basic services and must be decisively addressed.
He called on Ugandans to support leaders who promote transparency, fairness, and social justice.
“We must build a government that works for the common man, not just a few privileged individuals,” Munyagwa said, urging voters to embrace change and join his campaign for a better Uganda.
