Why Do We Still Turn to That Which Offers No Help?

As the world approaches the close of another year, nations across the globe are once again confronted with uncertainty. Global financial systems remain fragile evidenced by the 2025 US regional bank collapses (the Pulaski savings bank and Santa Anna National Bank), the prolonged recession in the Eurozone, and the currency instability affecting several African economies including Nigeria and Kenya.

Political tensions are rising, from the Russia-Ukraine deadlock to the escalating instability in the Sahel region where coups and insurgencies continue to unseat governments.

Even institutions traditionally trusted to provide stability such as the UN, IMF, and regional blocs struggle to anticipate or interpret these rapid shifts. In such a climate, it becomes necessary to evaluate the sources from which societies seek clarity and direction.

In Uganda, and increasingly beyond its borders, one voice continues to draw international attention: Prophet Elvis Mbonye. Throughout the year, during fellowship, he gives prophecies on political transitions, global affairs, natural events and the trajectories of nations.

His Prophetic ministry has become a significant point of reference for many who seek clarity or to hear the voice of God. Over the years, records have cited more than 240 national and international prophecies that have been fulfilled and documented, leading to a growing recognition of the relevance and authority of the Prophetic in contemporary society.

Several events this year happened as indeed had been prophesied intensifying the awakening. Some include the attempted assassination of Somalia’s President, which was a prophecy uttered during the 2nd January 2024 inaugural fellowship; the severe flooding in Islamabad, Pakistan, referenced at the 25th May 2025 Pakistan Crusade; and the post-election unrest in Tanzania.

These fulfilled prophecies are not coincidental. They are indicators of a divine conversation unfolding through God’s chosen vessel in this generation, Prophet Elvis Mbonye, offering evidence that prophetic insight still holds relevance in global affairs.

This raises an uncomfortable yet necessary question for nations: If a voice has repeatedly spoken ahead of major world events, why do we continue relying on systems and institutions that have consistently failed to interpret the times and seasons?

Scriptural precedent shows that humanity has always struggled with this tension. People often turn to systems “that hold no water” while overlooking sources that may already carry answers. Acts 2:22 offers a clear framework: “…a man approved of God among you by miracles, wonders, and signs…”

In other words, divine approval is not silent; it is demonstrable.

As the year ends, this framework invites a sober reassessment of where we look for guidance. If institutions without foresight continue to shape global decision-making while voices with consistent patterns of prophetic accuracy remain dismissed, the cost may be borne by nations unprepared for what lies ahead.

This is why the current “Best for Last Season” in the Zoe Fellowship carries profound significance. These are not merely gatherings. They represent a prophetic climax, a period where the Spirit of God consistently releases heightened grace, unusual anointing, defining prophecies, and rare impartations.

It is a season long recognised within the fellowship as the moment when destinies are realigned and people are positioned for the year ahead.

The scriptural pattern is clear. In John 2:10, the master of the feast declares: “You have kept the best wine until now.” In prophetic symbolism, this mirrors how God often reserves the most potent, transformative dimensions for the latter end of a season.

In the same way, the Best for Last Season has historically been marked by exceptional testimonies, uncommon miracles, and prophetic utterances that shape not only individual destinies but also national and global trajectories.

To miss such a moment is to overlook a divine appointment, one that has repeatedly proven to carry instruction, preservation, prosperity, elevation, and alignment for the days to come.

As 2025 draws to a close, the question stands before all of us with renewed urgency: Will we continue turning to that which has no help, or will we finally pay attention to a voice God has already authenticated time and time again?
