Ugandan artist and philanthropist Benard Feni, popularly known as Mungu Feni, has been named Artist of the Year at the Prestigious Personalities Awards 2026, powered by Feleb Concepts Multimedia.

The awards ceremony was held on June 14, 2026, in Accra, Ghana, where Feni was recognised for his outstanding excellence, remarkable achievements, dedication, leadership, and impactful contributions to the creative industry.

According to the organisers, the award celebrates individuals whose work demonstrates consistency, influence, and commitment to excellence.

“Your hard work, consistency, influence, and commitment to excellence have distinguished you as a worthy recipient of the Prestigious Personalities Awards under the distinguished platform of Feleb Concepts Multimedia (World Credibility Office),” the organisers noted.

They added that through his vision, service, and positive impact on society, Feni continues to inspire generations while contributing to growth, empowerment, and transformation within the entertainment industry and beyond.

The organisers described the award as a symbol of appreciation and recognition for his extraordinary accomplishments and continued pursuit of excellence.

In his remarks, Mungu Feni thanked his fans and dedicated the award to them, saying their support had played a key role in his success.

“To all my fans around the world, this award belongs to you as much as it belongs to me. Winning International Artist of the Year is a dream come true, and I am deeply grateful for your endless love, support, and belief in my journey,” he said.

Feni added that every stream, share, ticket purchase, message of encouragement, and prayer had contributed to the achievement.

He said the award was not the end of his journey but rather motivation to continue creating better music and representing Ugandan culture on the global stage.

“This is not the finish line. It is motivation to work even harder, create even better music, and continue representing our culture and our people on the global stage,” he said.

The latest recognition comes shortly after Feni won the Best New Star Gospel Artist award at the Shining Stars Africa Awards 2025/2026 held in Rwanda.

Having spent only three years in the music industry, Feni’s achievements on international platforms highlight his growing influence, versatility, and creativity.

Over the past few years, Mungu Feni has released several music projects that have gained international audiences and are available on major streaming platforms worldwide.

His music has recorded impressive performance on platforms including Shazam, YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Audiomack, Boomplay, Tubidy, and Song Boost in Uganda, where he continues to rank among the leading gospel artists with more than three million streams.

Beyond streaming platforms, his music has received airplay on international television and radio channels such as Trace Gospel, Trace Mziki, Trace Naija, Trace FM, Trace Muzika, TBN Africa, Face Music, and Pearl Magic Channels.

With a growing fan base beyond Uganda, the West Nile-born singer from Arua is sometimes mistaken for a West African artist because of the international appeal of his music.

Feni is among the first Ugandan artists to receive and win an international award despite not yet staging a major public concert, a milestone that highlights the growing power of digital music distribution and global online audiences.

Known for his soul-stirring gospel music, Mungu Feni is also an entrepreneur and founder of Euro Gold, balancing his music career with business and community initiatives.

Through the Mungu Feni Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in West Nile, he has contributed to community transformation efforts and received recognition for supporting youth empowerment and vulnerable communities.

The foundation was named Best Community Transformation Organisation in East Africa at the East Africa Brand Quality Awards.

It also received multiple honours at the West Nile Quality Brand Awards in 2025, including the Quality Excellence Award – Platinum, Best Community Development NGO, and Best Local NGO awards.
