Pilsner Lager to Champion Cultural Heritage at 10th Bakiga Nation

Pilsner Lager has  reaffirmed its partnership with the Bakiga Nation cultural festival for its special December Anniversary edition.

The much-loved annual gathering, known for celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Kigezi people, will take place this Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Millennium Park Lugogo, marking the climax of the festival’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Pilsner’s continued support underscores the brand’s commitment to promoting cultural celebrations that preserve and honour Uganda’s diverse cultural tapestry.

Addressing the media, Peter Ekwang, Pilsner Brand Representative, highlighted the shared values of unity, community and resilience that have shaped this long-standing partnership.

“Bakiga Nation is a true reflection of the Ugandan spirit, demonstrated through vibrant celebration and togetherness. As the true king’s beer, Pilsner is proud to be associated with platforms that preserve and elevate Uganda’s cultural diversity,”
said Ekwang.

He encouraged revelers to drink responsibly, reminding them that “the best memories are the ones we can remember.”

To enrich the experience, the first attendees will receive a complimentary Pilsner King upon entry, setting the tone for a festive celebration. This edition will also feature an immersive cultural village, giving guests the opportunity to explore the Kigezi region’s culinary diversity and strong sense of community.

Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Owen Bigombe emphasized the unique significance of this year’s celebrations:

“This edition of Bakiga Nation is a joyful proclamation of who we are. We invite everyone to experience the warmth, pride and unbreakable unity of the Kigezi people as we uphold our traditions amidst modernity.”

Festival-goers can look forward to vibrant performances including the energetic Kizono dances by the Bakiga Nation Cultural Group, as well as musical entertainment from regional talents T-Paul, Lillian Nabassa, Florence Musiimenta, and headliner Sheebah Karungi.
