FACT-CHECK: Fabricated Post Claims NBS TV Reported Candidate’s Withdrawal From NRM Primaries
The screenshot was doctored and does not represent any official communication from NBS TV.

A screenshot circulating online, allegedly showing a post shared by NBS TV on X (formerly Twitter), is fabricated.

The fake screenshot claims that Ampaire Diana, a candidate in the NRM Youth League elections for National Female Youth Member of Parliament, has officially withdrawn from the NRM primaries. It further alleges that Diana cited rampant voter bribery, state interference, and the heavy financial burden on candidates as her reasons for dropping out of the race.

However, the DisMis Fake News Desk has verified that this screenshot is not authentic. The NBS TV digital desk confirmed that no such post was ever shared on the station’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

A review of NBS TV’s official X account shows no such post was ever published. The fabricated screenshot appears to have been created to mislead the public and stir unnecessary tension ahead of the youth elections.

The public is urged to always verify information by checking NBS TV’s official social media channels and to remain vigilant during this election period, as misinformation tends to spread widely at such times.

Verdict: FALSE – The screenshot was doctored and does not represent any official communication from NBS TV.
