A video circulating on social media purporting to show Uganda’s First Lady, Janet Museveni, urging citizens not to vote for her husband, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, is entirely fabricated.
The short clip, widely shared on platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), features an AI-generated likeness of the First Lady appearing to speak against the President’s candidacy, causing confusion and concern among some members of the public.

The Office of the First Lady has dismissed the claims, stating that she has not made any remarks discouraging Ugandans from voting for the President.
