Two men have been arraigned in Wakiso Chief Magistrate’s Court over allegations of forcibly evicting occupants, destroying property, and theft on privately owned land.
Two suspects, Francis Kamya Kyeyune and Daudi Lwanyaga, have appeared before Wakiso Chief Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of forcible land entry, malicious damage to property, eviction of bona fide occupants without a court order, destruction of crops, and theft.
The duo, charged on Monday, were due to return to the court today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, for mention of the case.
The accused join three others — Ibrahim Ssejjombwe, Allan Kyeyune, and Joeph Musoke — who were earlier charged and remanded on similar allegations.
Authorities allege that between January and October 2025, the suspects, along with others still at large, falsely claiming to be bibanja holders, gathered a group armed with pangas and sticks to violently enter land in Block 314, Plot 846, Busiro, Bukasa, in Wakiso District, belonging to Dr. Paul Biriibwa.
During the incidents, the suspects reportedly destroyed workers’ residential houses, animal shelters for cattle, goats, and pigs, a wall fence, water tanks, trees, coffee and banana plantations, cameras, solar systems, and a 40-foot container.
Investigations revealed that the accused had no legal claim to the land and had never been in lawful occupation.
The complainants have held the land for over 20 years, with a valid title dating back to 2001.
The evictions and destruction were carried out without any court order.
