The lifeless body of a 35-year-old woman, identified as Kelemencia, popularly known as Nalongo, was discovered early this morning in Kakindo Town Council, Kakumiro District.
Preliminary reports indicate that she was the victim of a brutal assault and rape.
According to sources, Kelemencia’s tragic end came shortly after leaving Kakindo Health Center IV, where her two children had been admitted.
Despite warnings from a friend, she attended a disco held at the Kakindo Town Council premises.
The event was organized by Fred Kisembo, LC3 Chairperson for Kakindo Town Council.
Kelemencia was married to Joseph Kurabiiraho, a resident of Mpeeka within the same town council.
At the time of the incident, Joseph had returned home to safeguard their property.
Authorities are yet to release a formal statement as investigations into the incident continue.
