Evelyn Nakiryowa, the chairperson of Tomusange Zone, suggested that the deceased was likely a land broker, as an identification card found near the body hinted at his profession.
โWe suspect he was brought here after being killed elsewhere,โ Nakiryowa said.
The gruesome discovery drew a large crowd of residents and passersby, causing significant traffic congestion along the Ring Road.
The body reportedly remained at the scene for over four hours before police officers from Katwe arrived, accompanied by a sniffer dog, to conduct investigations.
During their search, police recovered several motorcycle number plates near the scene, raising questions about possible links to the crime.
The body was later removed and taken to the city morgue for further examination.
Residents expressed frustration over the lack of security in the area, citing poor lighting as a key issue.
โWe have asked KCCA to install streetlights here for years, but nothing has been done. This place has become dangerous,โ one resident complained.
Authorities have called on members of the public to provide any information that could help identify the victim and aid in solving the case.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
