Nakasongola District Police have launched an investigation and search operation following the disappearance of Trevor Kalyango, a four-year-old boy from Kamirampango village in Kalongo Subcounty.

The child went missing on Tuesday morning, prompting an urgent response from local authorities.

According to police reports, Kalyango's father took him to the family garden around 10:00 a.m. While at the garden, Kalyango asked for permission to return home for a drink of water. His father agreed, instructing him to return to the garden afterward.

Preliminary findings indicate that instead of returning to the garden, Kalyango stayed at home, playing with friends. When his father returned later, the boy was missing. Despite a thorough search, Kalyango could not be located.

Authorities suspect that Kalyango's mother, who is separated from his father, might be involved in the child's disappearance. While no formal accusations have been made, police are actively investigating this possibility.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sam Twiineamazima, the Police Spokesperson for the Savannah Region, confirmed that a missing person case has been filed, and efforts to find the boy are ongoing.

The police have urged the public to provide any information that may assist in locating Kalyango as the investigation continues.
