Uganda, Sweden Reaffirm Strong Partnership in Development, Education, and Climate Action
Uganda and Sweden have pledged to deepen their longstanding cooperation, focusing on education, climate change dialogue, and energy transition, reinforcing ties that support sustainable development and research initiatives.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, recently received Maria Håkansson, ambassador of Sweden to Uganda, for a courtesy visit at Parliament.

The meeting centered on strengthening cooperation between the two countries across key areas, including education, climate change, and energy transition.

Tayebwa expressed gratitude for Sweden's enduring partnership and support to Uganda.

"I conveyed my appreciation to Ambassador Håkansson, on behalf of the Government of Uganda, for Sweden’s longstanding partnership and valuable support, particularly in the education sector through initiatives at Makerere University and for the many other contributions that continue to strengthen the cordial relations between our two countries," he said.
