Cabinet reshuffle sees Muhoozi loyalists gain prominent roles
Aber and Balaam

Kitgum Woman Member of Parliament Lillian Aber, a vocal advocate and supporter of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has been appointed State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees.

Event promoter Balaam Barugahara, another staunch supporter of Muhoozi, has been appointed State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs. Both have played significant roles in organizing events for the First Son across the country.

Barugahara expressed gratitude to President Museveni for the appointment, describing it as a vote of confidence not only in him but also in various groups he represents, including the youth and business community.

He also acknowledged Gen Muhoozi's influence, pledging to work towards the socio-economic transformation of Uganda, particularly for the youth.

In a surprising move, President Museveni replaced Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi with two loyalists of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as junior ministers.

The reshuffle, termed a "fisherman Cabinet," largely retained the existing senior and state ministers, with slight adjustments.

However, the President removed Karamoja Affairs Minister Mary Goretti Kitutu and her junior Agness Nandutu, both implicated in a scandal involving diverted iron sheets meant for vulnerable communities in Karamoja.

In their place, Sironko District Woman MP Florence Nambozo was appointed as State Minister for Mineral Development, signalling a strategic move by the ruling NRM party in the eastern sub-region.
