The head of business at Pride Bank, Joseph Feeta said the new insurance product aims to send customers’ worries away

“We know that you work hard, you save small amounts, and you try to build your future. But what is the biggest fear? It is getting sick! One sudden fever, one accident, or one high hospital bill can wipe out everything you have saved for months. The hospital takes your savings, you have to borrow money at high interest, and you are back to zero but this product wants to stop this,”Feeta said.

To traders and small business owners, he said employees are their engines but in case of any problem, work stalls.

“ If they get sick, your business suffers. Pride Care is a simple, cost-effective way to make sure your team is healthy and your stall keeps running strong. You protect them, they work better, and your business grows!”

“We developed this product after listening carefully to the challenges faced by our customers. Time and again, we heard stories of savings wiped out by medical emergencies, of businesses disrupted by unforeseen health expenses, and of families thrown into hardship. Pride Care is our direct, accessible, and sustainable response to these challenges. A customer will be able to access this product at all health centers offering Jubilee services across the country,” Feeta added.

The Pride Bank Managing Director Veronicah Gladys Namirembe said the product is  far more than an addition to our portfolio but an embodiment of the bank’s vision.

“ We have always committed ourselves to providing truly customer-centric financial solutions. With Pride Care, we are empowering you our customers with tools that go significantly beyond traditional banking. Today, we are not just celebrating a product. We are celebrating the transformation of how banking can actively support your health, security, and overall life quality. This is how Pride fulfills its promise,” Namirembe said.

She said for over 30 years, Pride Bank has been committed to fostering financial inclusion in Uganda.

“From helping individuals save for the first time to enabling small businesses to access loans, we have continuously sought to address the real, everyday challenges our customers face. Pride Care builds on this legacy by integrating health insurance directly into savings, ensuring that disciplined saving is rewarded with robust protection against life’s uncertainties.”

“By embedding insurance into your everyday banking, we neutralize this threat. The benefits are automatically accessible, removing barriers such as complex applications or additional premium payments. Customers now gain tangible protection simply by maintaining their accounts responsibly.”
