More than 600 reflective safety vests were distributed to riders, co-branded with the NLGRB and bearing the message “Play Responsibly as well as helmet bags were provided to encourage road safety alongside financial mindfulness.

A licensed mental health specialist was present on-site, offering one-on-one consultations to boda riders on managing stress, gaming habits, and financial wellness.

“This event gave us a real chance to speak directly with riders about betting safely and making better choices, both on the road and in life. It’s encouraging to see more partners coming together to support this kind of community outreach,” said Dennis Nantajja, Operations Lead at Betika Uganda.

Officials from the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board said the event helped them preach the gospel of responsible gaming.

“The board encourages responsible gaming initiatives that prioritize mental wellness, player protection, and financial awareness. Partnering with the private sector in community settings like this helps extend that message where it matters most,” said Jackline Kamakune, Senior Communications Officer at NLGRB

The partners, including NLGRB and Betika  expressed interest in continuing similar community-focused efforts in collaboration with key stakeholders.
