Residents of Kampala and Ugandans across the country have been encouraged not to hesitate to wear yellow clothing or attire bearing the image of President Museveni, as leaders say citizens should feel confident expressing their political preferences.
The call was made by Faisal Ndase, head of the Youth Wealth Creation programme, an initiative supported by the Office of the President to empower individuals engaged in grassroots income-generating activities.
Ndase said Ugandans should feel free to display their political views, noting that the ruling NRM government has maintained peace and stability—conditions he said enable open participation in political processes.
He made the remarks at St. Peter’s Church in Kanyanya while meeting beneficiaries of the programme from Kawempe North and Kawempe South.
During the engagement, Ndase flagged off a mobilisation team and handed them an NRM flag to guide their activities as they move through villages rallying support for President Museveni ahead of the upcoming elections.
He urged them to welcome the President warmly when he visits Kampala and to focus on explaining the government’s achievements and future plans during their door-to-door outreach.
At the same event, the mobilisers formed a SACCO and elected leaders to coordinate both their savings efforts and political mobilisation.
Godfrey Ssande Muwanguzi was chosen to head the group. Muwanguzi said residents of Kawempe have benefited from various government programmes and argued that sustaining development requires continued support for President Museveni.
He added that the SACCO will help members avoid costly borrowing from moneylenders who charge high interest rates and often retain clients’ identification documents.
Deputy RCC for Kawempe, Jenifer Ssanyu Nasimbwa, encouraged the mobilisers to begin their outreach within their own households before engaging the wider community.
She also urged them to turn out in large numbers on January 15, 2026, and vote responsibly for President Museveni and other NRM candidates.
