Jambojet to begin flights to Kigali

Regional low-cost airline, Jambojet, has started selling flight tickets to Nairobi from Kigali in anticipation of its maiden flight in November. Jambojet announced that it will operate daily flights to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali starting 25th November.

The airline, a subsidiary of Kenya’s National Carrier, Kenya Airways, seeks to enable more passengers to fly affordably and reliably between Kigali and its hub in Nairobi. The entry into the Kigali route makes Jambojet the only low -cost airline to operate the route from Nairobi.

“The new route to Kigali is part of our regional expansion programme bringing the total number of our international routes in the continent to three, with the exception to those we fly to on behalf of Kenya Airways, and a total of 9 routes in the Jambojet network.” said Allan Kilavuka, Chief Executive Officer, Jambojet.

Customers can book through the website (www.jambojet.com), call (+250 788381294 or +250 78838129) sales office (KQ Sales office, M.Peace Plaza, Ground Floor), Social Media (Facebook & Twitter @FlyJambojet) and travel agents.

The one hour Nairobi - Kigali route will begin on Monday November 25th at 1435 to Kigali and leave Kigali at 1615 with a promotional fare of USD 107 one way.

Jambojet currently flies to destinations within Kenya including Mombasa, Malindi, Ukunda (Diani), Kisumu, and Entebbe, Uganda - from its hub in Nairobi. The Nairobi-Mogadishu route is set to start operations from Sunday November 24th.

Recently, Jambojet acquired two brand new De Havilland Dash 8 -Q400 aircraft, part of the four aircrafts that are expected this year, to boost the airlines capacity as it looks to soar into more regional destinations.

Since inception in 2014, Jambojet, which was awarded the coveted IATA Operational Safety Audit certification (IOSA) in July 2019, has flown over 3 million passengers, 30 percent of whom are first time flyers.
