Shocking Video: Security officers captured beating half-naked Makerere students

Makerere University student leaders are set to meet with the administration and management of the university over protests that rocked the university for over four days.

Last week, students at Makerere University protested against the 15 percent tuition policy that was approved by the university council last year. The protests would later turn violent leaving over 60 students arrested and 13 others injured with property worth millions destroyed.

Now according to a letter that was accessed by Nile Post, Makerere University Guild president and all student leaders on the Guild representative council have been invited to meet acting vice chancellor, Dr Umar Kakumba who will host a special meeting at 2pm, Monday in order to pave a way forward.

“This is to invite you and the Guild Representative Council for an interface with the university management..,” The opening statement reads in part.

Kateregga reacted to the letter and set four conditions that management should put in place if the meeting is to happen.

The first condition was the revocation of all warning and suspension letters issued by management over the last four days.

Kateregga also asked that Professor Hisaali Elias and Gordon Murangira should not be part of the meeting.
