Uganda will celebrate it digital transformation journey at the first-ever Swarm Summit and Technology Expo slated for November 22 to 23 at the Uganda Manufacturers Association conference hall in Lugogo.
“The Swarm Summit and Expo 2019 shall bring together and celebrate Uganda’s top business and technology minds building enterprises powering the country’s emerging digital economy. We are thrilled to provide a larger stage to showcase the technological innovations shaping Uganda’s digital economy,” said Teddy Ruge, the co-founder and director at Hive Colab, one of the organisers of the expo.
He noted that the summit organized under the theme, “Celebrating Uganda’s Digital Transformation” will recognize the different levels of development of the country’s digital landscape, focusing on the different entities that work to create a harmonious technology eco-system.
“The Expo is an excellent marketplace integrating a broad array of local and international service providers, suppliers, manufacturers among others,”Ruge said.
According to Albert Mucunguzi, the chairman, ICT Association of Uganda, the summit will be an opportunity for the country to reflect on its technology journey.
“This event will be a celebration of Uganda’s digital journey and will be an avenue to discuss solutions to the on-going setbacks in a bid to build better digital spaces and transform Uganda’s tech ecosystem,”Mucunguzi said.
He noted that the summit will be a one-stop centre where all stakeholders will meet to discuss current trends in the sector, issues affecting the sector, opportunities and the way forward.
“For companies dealing in Information Technology and IT Enabled Services and solutions, the event presents a great opportunity for them to showcase their products and services to potential clients.”
