FDC does not need to ally with anybody, says Amuriat

FDC party President, Patrick Oboi Amuriat

The Forum for Democratic Change party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat, has revealed that the party is working tooth and nail to ensure that President Museveni does not appear on the ballot paper in the next general election.

“What we must do is to make sure that Mr. Museveni does not appear on the ballot paper in 2021. This time, it will not be easy for him should he dare to appear on the ballot paper,”he said.

He also announced the resumption of the defiance campaign ahead of the 2021 general elections to unseat President Museveni regime.

The remarks were made during the independence celebrations at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi organised by the party.

The national celebrations took place in Sironko district.

“FDC is not going to wait for 2021 and that means marching in the streets of town and villages. Whether it means closing the roads for as long as we think it is necessary whether it means marching to the State House, so long as it’s necessary we should be prepared to do that,”he said.

He noted that the party is ready to dislodge President Museveni through peaceful defiance means.

“We will blow the whistle to action. I doubt whether Mr. Museveni can manage 10,000 people walking through the streets of Kampala,”he said.

He challenged Museveni to walk the talk and stop concentrating on small issues.

The leader of opposition Betty Aol Ochan accused President Museveni of being a traitor and a liar by saying that he has never received a bribe in his entire life.

“Telling lies, stop telling lies that I am not corrupt, who is making money?and apart from making money who is making the country so divided?”she asked.

She said Museveni came to power when service delivery was okay but now the country is in a bad situation.
