KCCA FC vs Petro de Luanda

@ 4:00pm (EAT) at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions, KCCA FC  will have everything to fight for as they host Angolan side, Petro de Luanda in the CAF Champions League return leg at Lugogo on Friday afternoon.

The first leg in Luanda ended in a nil-all draw and the Kasasiro boys will be looking at winning so as to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stages where they will be assured of at least $550,000, an equivalent of two billion shillings.

Speaking during the prematch press conference on Thursday, KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi was confident his boys would finish off the task at hand later today, adding that being at home will be an added advantage to his side.

“We are not safe after drawing goalless in Angola which brings the tie in a tricky fixture but we are playing at home and this gives us the advantage,”Mutebi said.

“I believe we have enough armory to negotiate the challenge.”

The Kasasiro boys gaffer insists the game will be a good advertisement of African football when both teams lock horns on Friday afternoon.

“We expect a great match as both teams are going to come for attacking football. It’s going to be an interesting game and don’t be surprised when you see a 4-2 result because we want good football and good football is punctuated by goals,” he added.

For Petro de Luanda coach, Toni Cosano, the game will be another chance for his team to try and finish the job they started at home.

“The goalless draw at home was a positive result for us and if we can score away, we shall have an advantage. We shall try to win the game here and see if we can qualify,”Cosano said.

“For us a win will be important as it will give us the prestige of qualifying for the group stages of the most prestigious completion in Africa.”

Mutebi’s charges will be welcoming assistant coach, Morely Byekwaso and players Sadat Anaku and Steven Sserwadda who are returning from the under-20 CECAFA tournament taking place in Gulu.

Defensive midfielder Nicholas Kasozi and winger Simon Serunkuma also return from injury but the team will miss the services of Julius Poloto and Sadam Juma who are out injured.

Newcomers, John Revita, John Odumegwu, Keziron Kizito and Erisa Sekisambu are ineligible to play for KCCA FC at this round.
