Kyetume poach from Uganda Premier League giants to reinforce ahead of maiden show

A few days to the start of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, new entrants Kyetume FC has continued to reinforce their squad by poaching from established giants.

Nicknamed 'The Slaughters', the team from Mukono gained promotion to the top-flight league for the first time in their history and in a bid to compete well, they have signed Julius Ntambi from Express Football Club.

The former Red Eagles skipper signed a two-year deal at Kyetume.

The club has also announced the signature of Baker Buyala from Tooro United and the striker put pen to paper for a two-year contract.

The Startimes Uganda Premier League novices also announced getting youngster Noel Nasasira on loan from defending champions KCCA FC.

Kyetume recently offloaded 20 players from their ranks and among them included veteran midfielder Owen Kasule whose contract expired, Emmanuel Kalyoowa and goalkeeper Ismael Zziwa.

The team also acquired the services of former KCCA FC coach George ‘Best’Nsimbe and midfielder Isaac Kirabira.

According to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League fixtures released on Wednesday, the Slaughters will begin their maiden journey in the country’s most elite league by hosting record champions, Sports Club Villa.

The game will be played at Namboole on August 29 on floodlights.
