"In my dream, Museveni will still be president in 2023 and I will still be a minister," says Kamya

The minister for Kampala Capital City Authority, Beti Olive Namisango Kamya has said that, in her dreams, she believes President Museveni will still be president by 2023 and she will still be serving in his cabinet.

Kamya made this remarks while being interviewed on the weekly NBS Focal Point that airs every Sunday during the Live At 9 news bulletin.

She said that by 2023, the president will be very happy with her having fulfilled her pledge of winning him support in Kampala shortly after announcing her as a minister.

"In my dream, Museveni will still be president in 2023 and will have been very happy with my performance because I will have won him a lot of MPs (Members of Parliament). In my dreams, I will still be minister. May be not a Minister of Kampala but in another docket,"

Kamya said that she will keep her docket of choice to herself and not point fingers at people's dockets at the moment.

On Whether she is NRM

Asked whether she is now fully in National Resistance Movement as a member, Kamya recited Douglas Adam's famous quote which says;

" If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck,"

She was however quick to say that she is not yet formally NRM because she is still a leader in the Federal Alliance party which is contrary to media reports earlier this year which claimed that she had given up her position in the Federal Alliance party.

"I am not yet formally though, because I am a leader of a political party; Federal Alliance,"

She added; "When I joined government, I told them that we should work out a formal arrangement for the party to work with government," Kamya said in part.

Previously a staunch supporter of FDC, Kamya fell out with the party and stood in 2011 on the platform of Uganda Federal Alliance (UFA).

In 2016 however she was appointed a minister by President Museveni.
