FDC: Museveni wasting tax payer's money on wealth creation tours

MUHAMAD MATOVU

The Forum for Democratic Change has expressed concern about the money President Museveni is spending on his tour of promoting wealth creation noting that the president is wasting the taxpayer’s money instead of using it to eradicate poverty.

Addressing the media on Monday, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, the party spokesperson, noted that FDC is very much concerned that taxpayers’ money is being wasted by President Museveni on the tours which are only another campaign for 2021 elections.

"There is limited access to market, poor and inadequate storage and processing facilities just imagine if we put that money to facilitate all that but the man is spending it on touring," he said.

He added that the country knows that Operation Wealth Creation has been as disastrous as all his earlier campaign slogans such as “Entandikwa” and “Bonna Baggagwale”.

He alleged that the NRM regime has only produced two most successful farmers in Uganda and that is President Museveni and his brother Salim Saleh.

“That’s why President Museveni keeps on talking about his farms in Kisozi or Rwakitura and now Saleh has one farm in Nakaseke. To do farming it requires a lot of investment and Museveni uses public resources to do farming," he noted.

He also warned Electoral Commission against retaining its secretary Sam Rwakoojo noting that his contract expired.

"Rwakoojo is still presiding over activities relating to the next elections which is against the laws of the constitution governing EC. We want to warn EC boss to refrain from accessing office since his contract expired," he said.
