Bobi Wine: Owner of Pacific Hotel's life was never the same after my arrest and torture

Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi has said that the owner of Pacific Hotel, Luiji Candia who passed on yesterday, was never the same since the chaos in Arua last year.

Luiji Candia, 69 was the owner of Pacific Hotel which the army raided on the last day of the Arua Municipality parliamentary by election to arrest Bobi Wine and other politicians.

He died on Sunday morning at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

According to a family source, the deceased suffered a stroke last week while in Arua. He was rushed to Nsambya's St Francis Hospital before being transferred to Mulago where he passed from.

It is suspected that he died of a stroke.

Now Kyadondo legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said that Candia's (late) health was never the same ever since the chaos in Arua.

Bobi Wine said the state made attempts to compromise Luiji so that he lies before the military court that Bobi Wine had weapons and when he refused to adhere to this, he was tortured.

"Every attempt was made to compromise Mr. Luiji so that he lies against me before the military court. Mr Luiji stood his ground and refused to lie against me. From the time he refused to cooperate with them in their evil scheme, we have been receiving reports that his life was never the same. He received a lot of threats, persecution and intimidation - but he held on," Bobi Wine said.

Bobi Wine said that Luiji would have amassed a lot of wealth had he chosen to lie against him(Bobi) but he refused to do that.
