Bobi Wine lacks the political ambition to remove Museveni from power- Frank Gashumba

Political commentator Frank Gashumba, has raised doubts about Robert Kyagulanyi's political motives, suggesting that the musician-turned-politician is merely using the National Unity Platform (NUP) to pursue his personal music aspirations.

Gashumba expressed his views during NBS Barometer, cautioning Ugandans against being deceived by Kyagulanyi's supposed intention to remove President Museveni from power.

According to Gashumba, NUP is merely a creation of the current government, serving as a platform for Kyagulanyi who is commonly known as Bobi Wine to fulfil his dreams.

"From day one, Kyagulanyi has always been a musician, not a politician," he claimed.

Gashumba further accused Kyagulanyi of presenting himself as righteous while unfairly portraying other MPs as being in the wrong.

"Kyagulanyi has no right to speak about transparency," he said.

Gashumba pointed out that NUP is losing support in two key constituencies: Buganda and the Catholic community.

He also highlighted the damaging impact of corruption allegations against former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga.

Gashumba further alleged that NUP receives government funding without any accountability, as some party members have reportedly never seen the land title for the NUP offices.

Gashumba criticised Kyagulanyi's frequent international travels, claiming that the musician-turned-politician rarely accompanies top party leaders such as Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, the embattled Parliamentary Commissioner, Mathias Mpuuga, and Medard Lubega Sseggona.

Instead, Gashumba contended that Kyagulanyi often travels with individuals like Nubian li and Eddy Mutwe, suggesting a deliberate attempt to shield certain party members from the international community.

"No one should be deceived that Kyagulanyi joined politics to remove Museveni from power. Unlike those like Muwanga Kivumbi, he does not have a political ambition of changing this country," he said.
