Museveni unfollows Chameleone on Twitter after singer joins DP

President Yoweri Museveni has unfollowed popular musician, Jose Chameleone, on twitter days after the artistes publicly announced that he had joined the Democratic Party which will further his ambition to become Kampala Lord Mayor.

President Museveni has today unfollowed musician Chameleone on Twitter

The president took the action today. It is not clear whether the decision had the direct input of the president or whether it was taken by his social media handlers.

President Museveni is the most followed Ugandan on Twitter with more than a million followers. He only follows 24 people who until today included Jose Chameleone aka Joseph Mayanja.

Before President Museveni unfollowed Chameleone

Chameleone campaigned for President Museveni in 2016 and was one of the headline artistes in the song "Tubonga Nawe".

But on 30th May, 2019, During the DP/UYD Busoga reunion at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja Chameleone stunned the DP leaders when he graced this occasion before he announced that DP is his new political home.

Chameleone has already announced that he will run for the Kampala Lord Mayorship in 2021.

While at the reunion, the singer told the crowds not to associate him with anything that involves the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
