General Mugisha Muntu's new political party, The Alliance for National Transformation has been given a green light to hold its proposed public meetings and party launch scheduled for Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd, May 2019.

According a press release from the Uganda Police dated 13th May, 2019, Police notes that it will be working with Mugisha Muntu who formally notified it of his plans to hold a promoters meeting on Tuesday 21st, May at Nsambya and later the party launch on 22nd May at Serena International Conference Centre.

"The two parties held consultations in advance, on how best time effectively manage the two events and ensure a proportionate policing response which is essential to the success of the events, safety of participants, spectators and minimal disruptions if other road users near the venues." The presser reads in part.

Police also applauded Mugisha Muntu and his political party handlers for the "maturity" maintained while peacefully engaging and addressing their outstanding political issues.

"We want to welcome and assure the intending participants that their safety at both events is guaranteed. We would also like to praise the efforts of the organisers, for peaceful engagement, towards addressing their outstanding political issues in sincere, mature and sustained manner.'' - Police noted in a  press release.
