Vipers start new life under Ouma with visit to Bright Stars in Uganda Premier League

Defending champions Vipers Sports Club are starting new life under new coach Michael Ouma will today visit tricky Bright Stars in their StarTimes Premier League game.

The Kitende based team last week relieved Mexican coach Javier Espinoza of his duties before appointing Ouma as his successor in an interim role.

Ouma will today be on the touchline for the first time for the defending champions but will not find a smooth road when they travel to Mwereerwe and should be wary of striker Nelson Ssenkatuuka who might torment them.

Vipers who are second on the 16 team log  will however go into the game  with a better record against the hosts, having not lost any game in both team’s last 10 meetings.

However, the defending champions will have to improve on their dismal performance that saw them held to a goalless draw by Tooro United in their previous game.

According to the Vipers website captain Taddeo Lwanga and goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya remain unavailable due to injuries whereas Tito Okello, Abraham Ndugwa and Rahmat Ssenfuka will have to  face late fitness tests to determine their availability.

Vipers have won three of their last five games in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League whereas Bright Stars have lost three of the last  five games they have played.

Going into the game, Vipers have not lost any league game this season whereas Bright Stars who have lost four games are 8th on the 16 team log with 19 points.

Bright Stars lost their previous game 2-1 away to Mbarara City on December 29.
