Has SC Villa's Moses Basena thrown in towel?

Barely six months after being appointed as SC Villa coach, there are reports that Moses Basena has resigned from the position at Villa Park.

The former Cranes coach is quoted to have said that he is not the right man for the job as the record league champions continue struggling at the tail end of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.

When contacted, he neither confirmed nor denied the development but according to sources, Basena is incensed by his team’s dismal performance in the league that has seen his boys ride on an eight man winless run.

Appointed in July, Basena as SC Villa coach has never won any league game as the team sits 14th on the 16 team log with only four points.

His last game was the two all away draw with Tooro United on Wednesday.

SC Villa will play their next game against new league entrants Nyamityobora at  Wankulukuku on December 1.

Previously, Basena has been in charge of a number of top flight clubs including Simba(Tanzania), UPDF , Saints, URA and recently served as the Cranes interim coach for six months until December when FUFA appointed Frenchman Sebastien Desabre as Uganda’s national team coach.
