Veteran politician and former MP for Makindye West, Hussein Kyanjo has said advised the incarcerated Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine) not to ask for forgiveness from President Museveni because he did nothing wrong.

Appearing on NBS TV's Morning Breeze, Kyanjo castigated those who are calling upon the president to forgive Bobi Wine are missing the point.

"No one should beg the president to forgive Bobi Wine, he should be tried in the courts of law. But if you want to put Bobi Wine before the law, first bring those who battered him against the law," Kyanjo said.

A number of musicians led by Chameleone,  have asked Museveni to forgive Kyagulanyi.

Kyagulanyi is scheduled to appear in the court martial tomorrow.

He hinted at the fact that there appears to be division inside government, with one section supporting the president and another group opposed to his action.

To move out of the current political impasse, Kyanjo proposed dialogue.

"People are crying out for dialogue but the supreme leader doesn’t want to listen, and the day he’ll want to listen it’ll be too late. We need a dialogue on how to move forward because the country is stuck," he said.
